Alternative Dispute Resolution
Contractual and procurement-related disputes are time-consuming and unpleasant, and can destroy client/contractor or contractor/contractor relationships that have been built up over time.
While it is better to avoid disputes happening, it is important to have a resolution procedure in place for when they do occur. It is now a requirement for all public bodies to provide details of their procedures for appeal, and the body responsible for mediation, in contract notices that they send to the Official Journal of the European Union.
BiP's Procurement Dispute Resolution Service (PDRS) provides a fast, efficient and cost-effective Alternative Dispute Resolution procedure. It is administered independently by DRS-CIArb, a division of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. The service helps parties reach a solution faster and possibly more fairly, with arbitration costs usually more than offset by savings in the disputing parties' time and administration costs.
